I dined at Monsieur Marcel and tried the white wine, fondue, kale Caesar salad, and oysters. The kale Caesar salad and oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious, and I really enjoyed them. However, the fondue wasn't quite to my taste; the cheese flavor was quite strong, and it had an earthy note that was a bit too intense for me. Overall, the food was tasty, though I did notice that the bread arrived almost after we had finished most of it.

I love this place. Food is always great, and we always have a good experience. Last night we had the Alaskan Halibut, Cesar salad and fries. Everything was really good, including the service. Huge fan of this place.

We rarely eat French food so we wanted to try this little bistro at the original farmers market. We were seated within 10 minutes and the place was packed with a lot of tourists it seemed. It's in a farmers market so all the tables aren't that private and a bit tight. We decided on seafood platter for two, soup of the day and a bottle of white wine. The seafood was very fresh and it was a lot for two ppl. Hubby loved his soup. Our light lunch was very yummy. Service was good but not as attentive as I would have liked. Still a cute place for some light bites and wines that we don't mind eating here again!

I do recommend this business. It's right in the famous farmers market on Melrose in Fairfax in West LA. One of our favorite spots actually all of farmers market is a great place to try lots of different foods but this place is not only a great market with gourmet foods but a French bistro. Please come. Expensive to Park but still worthwhile to be in such a historic market, a.k.a. farmers market.

They're famous for the fondue of course! But the steamed clams in wine and garlic sauce were so tasty or the smoked salmon sandwich from the lunch menu! The manager Chris was extremely nice and helpful while our server appeared to have some sort of maniacal episode trying to take everything away from the table , meaning our plates with food still present! I could say we had better service, attitude and approach from the busboy than from our server so it got compensated. The fondue was great , just smaller than I could remember but that's a generalization that happened with all the places , prices went up, portions got smaller. I'm glad the taste was the same :) There was another mistake when we ordered the wine but we let slide! I was only a bit sad I ordered the octopus to go and when I got home and try to it , the Lima beans were tough as in not cooked enough. So I cooked them for awhile until they got edible! Great taste though, nice wine and olive oil sauce with the addition of fresh herbs and nicoise olives. They have a next door amazing store where you can buy goodies like French cheeses, wines, sweets , merchandise and gifts ! I had their amazing Napoleon to go and a few champagne bottles ! Again very nice store associate who had the patience to explain to me the notes of different champagne bottles until I decided what to buy! I wish it was closer to us :(

I love shopping here! Great euro vibes and my favorite part is we took my mother in law here and grabbed a baguette with olives, cheese and some other fun finds. We wanted to order food here but they ended up being closed so I wish there was some signage for that since we had gotten our hopes set on a glass of wine and meal. If you want to Explore some delicious food- shop here. This is a bit expensive so see it as a treat.

Very happy that we decided to walk through the farmers market for some coffee, we saw this French restaurant and started eyeing all the tables and the food. We were just looking for caffeine but this place really caught our attention and looked promising. The set up looked great and reminded me so much of Europe, the food looked delicious and great quality. After walking around the entire farmers market we knew we wouldn't be satisfied unless we tried this place. The escargot was the first thing that drew our attention, we love escargot, but it's so difficult to find a restaurant that cooks it right/good (we only know one restaurant in LA where we enjoy escargot). Escargot here was amazing, one of the best we've ever had, the steak tartare was also simple yet one of the best, and I'm obsessed with the shoestring fries that come with them (I'm a sucker for shoestring fries). We tried their marinated olives, they were good but just like any other we've had, I did enjoy the fact that they give a variety of olives. We also tried the grilled octopus, the octopus itself was good, nothing crazy, we've had better and we've had worse, but what the octopus sits on was exceptional. There was gigante beans, olives, celery, capers, tomatoes, and more, it was delicious and unexpected. We cannot wait to come back, this is definitely a must try place, I studied abroad in Paris and have vacationed in France a lot and I am extremely happy with the food at monsieur Marcel. There were sooo many items on the menu that looked amazing, I will be sure to come back to try more!

Here again on full display at this wonderful place in the Farmer's Market is the triangle of excellent service, food, and ambiance. We had waited too long to try this place and come to find out they are the best that the Farmer's Market has to offer. We at a chilled main lobster, the French onion soup, asparagus, potatoes au gratin and the filet. They were all top notch delicious. If you're at Farmers Market and want something incredible, then this is the place. The wait staff was phenomenal as well. Thanks for a great time!

Love this place. It's certainly why I stay coming back to the grove. Thank goodness I live so close that I can go whenever I want. In all of my years coming here, not once have I ever been disappointed. What I love is that they double as a supermarket where you can get the best of everything. Add to that, the restaurant right outside and you have a yourself a winning combo that gets all the locals coming back again and again and again. The sandwiches are my ultimate jam. Their wine selection is bananas.
